A lot of builders install rudder cable fairings. They look nicer than the white plastic tubes sticking out and avoid water entering. If you have the stock rudder pedals, the rudder cables will come out of the tunnel up front inside the cabin to meet the rudder pedal attachment points. It looks much nicer to also add fairings there. Hint: most people will add the Airward tunnel access panel in this area for the annual inspection or to access the fuel filters if not going with wing-root fuel filters. The bottom rivets of the fairing will have to go through the frame of the access panel, so this needs to be installed before the fairings or the rivets need to be left open until then. | |||
