Flap Position Sensor

  • The old flap motor (before mid 2022) has no built-in position sensor and needs an external POS12 sensor (available at Vans) to interface to either the VPX or the GAD27. The switch-based flap position option from Vans for the RV-10 is not compatible with modern panels as it has no potentiometer to reflect the position. Consider not installing it. Check out the POS12 installation instructions for the RV-14, for example section 54 logs in this N398WM build log. It uses this 63 mil 1 foot stainless steel rod to make the link.
